Yesterday afternoon 2
girls mommies made their way to Montecasino to watch the Dirty Dancing production.
As a little girl growing up, Dirty Dancing was one of my all time favourite films – I know the script like most people know the Lion King’s script. Naturally the cast were amazing dancers – they were mesmerizing to say the least! Unfortunately most of them weren’t actors by professions which means the acting was a bit stiff They sounded slightly rehearsed and not what a person would expect from a show in it’s third or fourth week of performances.
We laughed a great deal – some of the scene you just cannot recreate on a stage with the same kind of ambience – one of the best examples is the water scene where Baby practices the lift. And 2 characters in particular – Lisa, Baby’s sister and Neil, the owner of the resort’s grandson.
The end of the production was just as magical as the end of the film, with “I had the time of my life”. We all walk out light hearted and believing in romance. All in all it was a pretty special production – definitely worthy of girls night out!
