Sparrow at Heart

An explanation…

Tomorrow marks my tenth week back at work.  It pretty much explains why I have been so quiet here.

Things have been hectic! Balancing early mornings and being fully alert during the day (or at very least, look it) with nights of interrupted sleep.  Working.  Leaving work at just the right time and rushing home, so that the nanny can get home at a decent hour.  Followed by the plunge into Grade R home work as you walk in the door while making supper and getting the feed-bath-bed routine just right.

The past month has definitely brought some extra pressure, a close friend and colleague has been off ill.  Since we are sharing an account the workload has been a fair amount.  To mention my nights are filled with dreams of how to get my passengers from Johannesburg to Kazakhstan and onwards to Saudi Arabia in the shortest amount of time, could be considered complaining.  Unfortunately it is my current reality!

Instead I think I should mention how much I am looking forward to:

  1. Phantom of the Opera….  31 March
  2. Easter weekend
  3. The second long weekend in April (combined with a couple of days leave)

Two weeks, I can do it!

Thankfully other than work, life is pretty much drama free (touch wood in hope not to tempt Murphy).  Kobus has made some big decisions regarding his career and this will bring some changes in our future.  The change I am happiest about is having my husband to myself over weekends.

Logan is doing very well.  School is fun and his teacher and friends are awesome.  “We” have started mini sport on Saturday mornings, which Logan feels interferes a bit with other things he would rather be doing.  However I feel it is necessary and I am hoping having Kobus at home over weekends will make him a bit more excited about soccer in general.

Oliver has a toothie!  Just one for the moment.  Wish us luck for when the other teeth make an appearance!  Oliver in general likes moaning, he will even smile while he moans and giggle in between.  But he is kind of good at moaning.  Adding a thing like teething to the equation, means big drama!  Kind of like man-flu on drugs!  Thankfully he is super cute and he loves his walking ring!
